The Military Initiative aims to explore cellular agriculture’s potential for military use.
Militaries around the world, with their often, large budgets, are a uniquely qualified party to potentially help commercialize cellular agriculture. An area of interest may be the actual “clean” nature of clean meat if there was a wartime situation. Upon nuclear fallout, radiation could kill farm animals and contaminate food supplies expansively, but cellular agriculture foods with cell banks could be of high utility in these scenarios. Whether it be clean food with longer shelf lives, or biomaterials that offer unique durability characteristics, cellular agriculture is positioned to be of interest to the military.
Members of the Military Initiative brainstorm prospective benefits cellular agriculture could have according to specific needs of militaries.
Current/Working projects include...
Investigating the potential for cellular agriculture foods like clean meat within deployment missions
Exploring the potential benefits of cellular agriculture materials for the military like extremely durable textiles
